The first warriors of the Iberian Peninsula were fierce and faithful Iberians who defended with their death their warlords. They were expert riders who carried bows, arrows and the feared Falcata that they used until the end of the battle. Just like the men, the women, in addition to devoting themselves to cattle and cultivation, also participated in the warrior life and in the Assembly where the important decisions of the tribal states were taken. Dedicated to the cult of female deities (symbol of creation & fertility), they also offered rites to the Sun and the Moon. In their temples, adorned with sculptures of sacred wolves —representing the warrior ardour, the cult of the night, the guide in the beyond— magical ceremonies were celebrated by priestesses such as the famous Lady of Elche.

Brought from India by the Macedonians and incorporated into European armies, the powerful and fierce —although peaceful and intelligent— elephants were used as shock weapons during the Punic Wars. With them, Anibal, the great strategist who swore eternal hatred to the Romans, crossed the Alps to invade Italy. Over the years, the boasted general would fall defeated as his native Carthage - As Cato had already predicted: Delenda est Carthago. Eventually, the elephants of the Old Carthaginian Civilization were also not decisive in the wars for the domination of the Mediterranean, although their enormous suffering, their dedication and their sad end deserve this little tribute.

When we enter the extraordinary history of Ancient Rome we come across its legions, its conquests, its epic battles, its emperors and its Immense Empire, its founding myths and its gods, the principle of citizenship, the law, the senate and the Roman people (SPQR), but we also find stories of persecutions, of slave traders for the Mare Nostrum, of prisoners of war and gladiators who fought heroically in the arena of the Colosseum to conquer their freedom —Many of them, of course, confronted in the amphitheatres attracted by the search for recognition, fame and glory.
