Guerreas amazónicas. De Escitas a princesas mongolas

The Greek historian Herodotus wrote about the Scythian Amazons who, as children, learned to use the curved bow and arrow. The eagle and the horse their inseparable companions. They became skilled horsemen who nurtured the ranks of their armies. Tattooed with fantastic animals infused with magical powers, their bravery led them to lead the nomadic tribes. Heroes like Hercules or Alexander succumbed to its seductive power. Among the warriors of the steppes we must mention Tomiris, who defeated and killed Cirio II himself, or Khutulun the Mongol princess who was never defeated (neither on the battlefield nor in traditional Bökh wrestling). Entire generations of women who fought valiantly and helped to put Rome, Greece, China and Persia at bay.

The Scythians was a nomadic people dedicated to grazing and raising horse horses, which descend from the ancient peoples of the Iranian plateau where languages of Indo-European origin were spoken. They were fierce tribes who mastered the revolutionary art of war on horseback, controlled trade routes (Egypt, Rome, Greece, Persia, India, China) and who, in their forays into neighboring settlements, used to seize booties of gold, horses, and slaves. As an ancestral culture, the sacred was very present: they inhaled cannabis and hashish to communicate with the gods and performed funeral rites such as those discovered in Tamgaly in Kazakhstan - The Stonehenge of the Scythians, temple of rituals where petroglyphs or rock engravings of shamans, bulls were found and horses under the gaze of the Sun God— sacred places where they buried themselves in order to be able to contact their ancestors.

Women played a fundamental role in the community and in the warrior life. The great Greek historian Herodotus wrote about the Scythian Amazons who, as children, learned to use the curved bow (covered with birch bark) and the arrow (which were dipped in snake venom). The dog, the eagle and the horse (used in their swift movements for seasonal hunting) were inseparable companions of these young apprentices, who tamed creating a special bond and bond through words and body language.

These Amazon warriors became expert horsemen who nurtured the ranks of their armies — some 300,000 Amazonian women are dated in front of the Persians. Tattooed with fantastic animals, who infused them with magical powers in their acts of bravery, they led the nomadic tribes, and their capacity for seduction was total - they were polyandrous and used strong men to generate strong children - some heroes and kings such as Hercules or Alexander the Great experienced that power.

Among the names of female warriors of the steppes we must mention Tomiris, from the neighboring Masageta people, who like the epic Zenobia, Artemis or Pentesilea, defeated and killed Cirio II himself, king of the Archimedes of Persia "salting him with his own blood" . And at much later dates - mid XIII when the Empire of Genghis Kahn was already divided - to the Mongolian princess Khutulun, the only daughter of Kaidu and the youngest of the 15 brothers, lords of the Kanato de Chagatai, vassals of the great Kan Kublai Khan, newly self-proclaimed emperor of China, with whom they remained at war for 30 years. Her strength, bravery, and prowess led her to be a counselor in battles and government, and to defeat, incidentally, not only all her brothers in traditional Bökh wrestling (strength, union, and persistence) but also all her suitors . Today she is considered in Mongolia as the heroine who has never been defeated and is still being paid a peculiar tribute in the famous “three games of man” - archery, horse racing, Bökh - where the fighters show their attributes to testify that whoever He has been a winner, not a woman, in reference to our legendary warrior who would surely crush them like flies.

They were entire generations of female warriors who died as bravely as men and who helped to put Rome, Greece, China and Persia at bay.
