Today we bring a recommendation, a night route, a walk through the magical Toledo guided by one of the members of the order of the Hidden Toledo, Gonzalo Rodríguez, doctor in History, masterful speaker and source of wisdom that moved us through the Imperial Toledo, the ancient medieval capital of Spain bathed by the Tajo´s river, whose hinge door to the city already anticipates its great majesty. Owner of cathedrals, churches, monasteries, mosques and synagogues, in its cobbled streets imposing swords, sabers and armor are sold giving us clues of the ancient craft trade. Its alleys, passageways and ancient stones that gave shelter to Jews, Muslims and Christians, all witnesses of wars, conquests, intrigues, duels of honor in the  Calle de la Muerte (Street of the Dead) romantic legends and violent deaths, whose architecture and Gothic peculiarity served as inspiration to Greco himself.

However, it is possible that the most clueless visitor will escape everything that hides that magical and mysterious toleration that is so far from human compression that the modern world has imposed. This is what Gonzalo and his team advise us to put our entrenched prejudices on stand-by and let our senses fly to embark on an enigmatic and fascinating journey incomprehensible today with the parameters of current science. And it is why in the Middle Ages magic, bewitches, wizards, spells and invocations  were considered part of the “Ancestral arts” or “Toledo Sciences” not to be associated with fanaticism, superstition and ignorance. That explains  that the famous Royal Academy of Translators of Toledo and the very king Alfonso X “The Wise” were the drivers of collecting, studying and translating the pagan works of the different Greek, Arab and Jewish cultures (which the church had previously condemned) to Castilian to make them accessible to a public reserved until then to the most illustrious and learned.

Through this experience we have been able to enter and know about these masterpieces written by historians, troubadours and philosophers that contained valuable knowledge of astronomy, alchemy, mathematics and magic. Books that connect with the forces of the invisible. Meet characters worthy of a science fiction novel like the Wizar Illion and his school of Necromancy (branch of magic considered black that consists of the divination of the future through the invocation of spirits and demons).; stories of witches like Catalina that the court of the inquisition accused of being fake, who instead of taking her to the stake as was usually done with a true witch sentenced her to 100 lashes; the entanglements of sorceresses selling their love recipes;  the brave daring of the cleric who also read hidden books forbidden by the church;  discover the worship of the secret science of the Baphonet (that 3-sided magic or talking head that represented the past, present and future used as a kind of Oracle that advised how to work in certain dilemmas) by the mysterious Christian Order of the Temple that hid that esoteric face - it is no accident, then, that the old Templar neighborhood, the current square of Abdón de Paz, was known as the square of the head.
